Are you sure you never use participles? You never say "I've been to
such-and-such place"?

FWIW, I've never heard that word in active use in my entire life,
either, and I've lived most of my life in Texas. Were I to
hear it in active use (and did not know better from this discussion
that people actually do use it), I would assume that the person
using it is trying to affect a false archaic dialect, or has
unusually generalized a very unproductive morpheme. From the
respondents who've said they've heard it or use it, my impression
is that its a characteristic of US Midwestern dialects.

I'm pretty sure that I've used "drunken" as a nonadjectival
past participle before.  I don't do it systematically, though.
