It was in May and June _2005_ with just one mail in the first week of July.

This is a blatant ad_hominem attack and untrue.
As Mike has chosen to make this allegation openly on the list, I feel,
sadly, that I have no choice but to set the record straight:
The thread began in the 4th week of May with 18 mails; there were none
in the 5th week of May, nor the 1st week of June. In the 2nd week of
June there were 14 mails, none in the 3rd week, 5 in the 4th week and 3
in the 5th week of June; there was a final mail in the tread in 1st week
of July, as I said above.
Of these 41 mails, I contributed 4 - i.e. about 10%
I fail to see how I flamed the discussion in my mails of 27th May, 28th
May, 13th June and 14th June.
"...and taken of list" is putting a misleading spin on what did actually
happen.
It will be seen from the above that the thread did continue for a while
_after_ my 4th mail. It is true that Tom Chappell, Joseph Birdwell and
myself did exchange mails on the topic off the list; but we did so by
mutual agreement as we felt that we did not want to bore other members
with our own private exchanges. But, to my knowledge, Thom and I did not
flame one another either on or off the list.
