Several list members are posting as HTML; Replying to one of their messages
produces the effect you describe in my mailer (Outlook Express 5), rather
than the usual >s. When this happens I always set the message format to
Plain Text and the graphic disappears.

Of course, on Hotmail you're always going to see the mail as HTML. Or is
there a pref you can set to Plain text?
