I was in Oz back in 1999. A schooner of VB in most pubs was about AUD2.00-2.50 back then. That's easy to cover with a couple of coins.

That may change the way things are going. The USD is losing value quickly. Canada has now caught up.

I get rid of change when I can. The first order of business when coming home from anywhere usually involves empying the change from my pocket into a big jar. When the jar gets full, I take it to a Coinstar machine, which unfortunately means paying them a big percentage for taking them off my hands.

I haven't kept track lately, but last I checked NZ$ were worth a lot less so it may make more sense for them to drop the $.05. Okay, here's the question o' the day: What's the smallest denomination coin you'll bother to pick up from the ground after dropping it?
