Maybe. Or you could just scrap all the existing vocabulary and start all
over again. But I don't think you'd like to do that if you have a sizable
lexicon :P I did that yesterday when, reviewing my Kel grammar, I decided I
didn't like /hatu/ for 'book', but I liked /kivu/ better, so I scrapped
/hatu/ for /kivu/... I somehow had gotten /hatu/ from Arabic /kita:b/ (with
inspiration from Swahili /kitabu/); I think /kivu/ is better than /hatu/
because it follows (more) reasonable sound changes: the /ta/ just syncoped,
and /b/ -> /v/ between vowels occurs in natlangs. (/kivu/ will be one of
only a few natlang borrowings into Kel; it'll be mostly a priori.) I'm still
unsure about the sound change, tho...

And another example is from Kosi, which is a postereori. I had somehow
gotten /piruksa/ from Hungarian /piroS/ 'red', but fixed it yesterday, thus
/piru/.
