My first name is James, after an uncle, great-uncle, and great-great-
uncle (a few cousins of various sorts in there as well). My sisters
got one name each from Aunts Mary and Margaret, with the
remainder of names filled in by agreement (no specific source, in
other words): Anthony, Ann, Ellen.
My brother got the traditional Hogard name; he's Benny (+ Leroy
from an uncle), son of Bennie, son of Ben, son of Benjamin. I think
that was originally from Pres. Harrison.
My daughters' middle names (Elaine, Bethany) come from close friends
of my wife, while their first names are from our very small intersection
set of acceptables: Ginger and Clara (only a coincidence that both
appear in _The Nutcracker_). We wanted distinctive yet mainstream
names while staying within our approximately Anglo-French background.
