Where my first name comes from is unknown from me. It's probably just a name my parents agreed on, without any reference to family or whatever (AFAIK, I'm the only member of my - extended - family with Christophe as a first name). My middle name (we say "deuxième prénom" in French, where it has not as much importance as in the US) is simply the first name of my father, just like my father bears as middle name the first name of his father, etc... I don't know where the tradition comes from, but since my middle name has no special meaning for me (I wouldn't answer when called by it. It's just a second first name I have to put in official papers and that's all), I absolutely don't care. Christophe. http://rainbow.conlang.free.fr Take your life as a movie: do not let anybody else play the leading role.
