Conculturally unsound. I'd have to borrow it, but from what language?
What is the oldest language that has a word for birch? Hm...
> 2. werewolf / lycanthrope of some variety
Shapechanging comes in two varietise in my conculture:
1. changing to/from a predefined form (like lycanthropy)
2. 'other' shapechanging
Hmm... a word for the second is easier I think...
"raxma:nux" change-shape-self (haha, Rachmaninov)
"raxuxma:n" change-self-shape
Leave to stir... I'll probably know tomorrow.
> 3. to save (money)
Know no word for money even. Oups. (Hmm, naonaove? ninive? hahaha)
"nao"naova"fao'mani'ivan
(annoying reggae-loop stuck in brain) Yah Man!
to store an item, save a file: haoa
A word for the acts of Unca Scrooge McDuck would be 'overstore lots of
money', 'hoard money' but that doesn't cover the usual aspects of
'save money'
"haoarrinn": store too much
> 4. to conquer
take over, win through battle (checks roots) whoa, wordnet has a silly
definition: suppress? stamp down on? huh? checks webster instead
ah, webster:
1. To gain or acquire by force (and synonyms)
2. as 1. but by mental means (persuasion)
3. to win
General word: overcome
Nah, needs time
(Please make the reggae stop!)
> 5. motif
wordnet:
1: a design that consists of recurring shapes or colors
like a pattern, then. important word
2: a theme that is elaborated on in a piece of music [syn: {motive}]
this definitely needs a separate word, variations on a theme is a
cornerstone in some of the concultural music genres.
3: a unifying idea that is a recurrent element in a literary or
artistic work; "it was the usual `boy gets girl' theme"
theme, red thread, undercurrent, hidden structure...
Might have some words tomorrow.
