Re: Germanic and Celtic (was Re: Verb-second ... verb-penultimate languages?)

I dont believe this is the case. The earliest Celtic
languages, Gaulish, Celtiberian, Lepontic(?), all have
word orders, morphology, phonology and some lexicon
more similar to Italic languages than Germanic.
