"Tonocide" sounds alot like somebody deliberately ridding a language of its
tones. I get visions of the Language Police sneaking around and arresting
everyone not talking in a dead monotone ...
The oposite of _tonogenesis_ should perhaps be, if the sages excuse my
Greek, be _tonothanatos_?
