I pronounce LOTR names with a mixture of 'correct', 'semi-correct', and
'English-spelling intuition' styles, depending on the name and how much i
knew when i first encountered it.
For instance, i pronounce the rhymes Lórien and Lúthien as [l@'raj@n] and
['luTij@n].  And i pronounce Númenor as [num'jEnOr], with a mysterious
[j] popping in there after the [m].  Not having taken Spanish when i
first read LOTR, i had no idea what a rising-accent mark can be used for
:-) .  I originally said [sOran] for Sauron, but then partially 'fixed'
it to [s&wran].
