Fair enough, as far as it goes -- except that with Usenet, I download
headers (and, if I like, posts) to my client, and I can then save them
in the client even past the expiration of the post on the news server.
Now, if phpBB or whatever it is they use offered a client that would
let me download and keep things, that would be justifiable... as it
is, it seems odd, since a forum is *not* Usenet.
(Not to mention that my Usenet client does threading, whereas most
forums I've seen don't -- they just dump entire conversations into one
window, much like Gmail, without making it clear who replied to whom.)
