Phono 4.1

I just noticed tonight that there is now a Windows version of the
(formerly DOS-based) sound change modeler Phono, at http://
mypage.siu.edu/lhartman/ -- and it's now open source! I know there
are several other sound change modelers around (and platform-
independent ones at that), but what's cool about this one is that it
comes with two nice rulesets: one to get Spanish from Latin and one
that collects various sound changes from languages all over the
world. Conlangers can get some interesting sound change ideas from
these rules files (.pho files); you can view and edit them in Phono
itself (although the interface for that is frankly pretty bad), or
look at them in a text editor.
