Negative pressure behind the glottis? You breathe in slightly to make that reduced pressure, right? Thus, a pulmonic ingressive? When I try to do it, it sounds more like a pulmonic ingressive /?h/. I have a *real* tough time using it in connected speech. FWIW, only one language in the world has a pulmonic ingressive, and it's Australian. I forget the name of the lang (|diwal|, maybe?) but the sound is a lateral. Paul
