Just so. Mincement contains meat, as you and Tristan have both said. Mince, OTOH, the ingredient of mince pies, does not, at least in the U.S.

Of water, that is. Sure. That's why "ounce" is used for both volume and weight: a floz of water weighs 1 oz.
