In my family, a tradition is arising of giving one boy in each generation
the middle name "James". This started with my father, who had three
brothers and a sister, but was the only child in his generation of the
family to have a middle name. Apparently his mother really wanted to call
him James, nobody else liked it, and he ended up being Eric James
Bleackley. I was the last of five children, and was given my father's
middle name, hence Peter James Bleackley. My dad died fairly young, before
any of his grandchildren were born. Two of my nephews have the middle name
James (the two who haven't are brothers of the two who have), and my son is
Edward James Hall Bleackley. The "Hall" bit is my wife's surname - she kept
her maiden name, and wanted to pass it on.
