--- written this with a lil help/hindrance from my friends who treated me to
a home cooked Latino din-din (& some much needed groceries and coffee supplies
when they saw I had only "Pano" health bread, a shrivelled eggplant, some
foodbank fruits, granola, leftover New Year Day Indonesian-style green curry and
spaghetti in my lil hovel of a livin'space)

nightclub): oh they are "nice"... but they have ulterior motives that make me

Bingo! Exactly.... My _anarchisto_/radio-pirate friend "DJ Rigo de Toro" - hailing from Barcelona Spain - says thats why he considers himself "Latino" and his neighbors from Mexico, Cuba, etc. as his "cousin Latino Americanos." So "Latino" in general, so he argues, is correct not only socio-politically but more importantly culturally *. His riotgrrl friend (& my ex-"jailbird" gf), Alisia, from Rimini Italy/San Marino is "Latina Prima" ;) * He wishes to see a "Pan-Latino" culture movement encompassing all the Latinate countries and cultures that were untouched by the Protestant Reformation and have a proven "blood-history of proto-anarchistic 'anti-clericalism'" - another words, anybody who "can trace even a drop of blood to south-western Europe and Italy... and anybody who identifies completely with these cultures on a spiritual level." He considers Gibraltorans, French, Corsicans, Maltese, Moroccans, Jews, Gypsies and Greeks with ancestry from these areas "Latinos first and foremost...". "Don't forget your cousin _Chino-Mexicanos_ in Mexico City..." "AiYaH!" "Aija Yourself!" "Will ya quit hoverin' over my shoulder!... I can't write this up with you messin' up my already scatter-brainied writin' style." I ask Rigo if CheChe "Basta Chino" Wong, a Jewish Cuban-Chinese chef we both know, is Latino. "Hell yeeeaaah esaaai!... even if he wasn't part Cuuubanooo, he qualify on just his Kosher fried plantain & rice dish alone! _And_ waaaay too many Cubans say he play dominos like a 'BAstA' - which is very much like the calling a poker-player 'Doc' is amongst the Anglos, you know, hey by the way I like the way you just now types up my accent -" "AiYah!" Oh, amongst the above-mentioned company (& their friends/families) - ever since I lived in the Mission District in San Francisco circa 1989 and did 6 months hardtime in Santa Rita in 1990, I have had the street "tag" of "Chino Loco" and, proudly, I am not Latino ;)... yet ** "If that ever happens we nickname ya 'Chino Mutanto'!" Alisia: "Jon, you oughta hurry up and bone up on your lousy Spanish...and your Italian... it's gettin' worse with out use...and your abuse!" *gigglebox activity!* Rigo: *ROTFL* "Uuuse It ...or loooose It... " Alisia's mum: "By the way you need to go out more... Seriously I worry about ya... Nearly always in front of that box [my 'puter] every time I am here..." "AiYaaH!" Alisia's mum: "Stop it with all that damn 'Aiyaah-ing! Will ya? It's annoyin' ... and it sounds like we didn't feed you good or sumt'ing..." (** even I hafta remind myself of the weird adaptive traits of the Cantonese, i.e. CheChe ... and the Chinese-Mexican families - with daughters - I have been "introduced to just by chance" [yeah, right, just by freakin' chance, eh? with friends like these, who needs enemies... (Rigo's & Alisia's simultan-o-response: :P~ and "the Bird" )]). --- *DiDJiBuNgA!!* >Teenage Aboriginal Walkabout Turtles....--- Hanuman "Stitch" Zhang, ManglaLanger (mangle + manga + lang) http://www.boheme-magazine.net Language[s] change[s]: vowels shift, phonologies crash-&-burn, grammars leak, morpho-syntactics implode, lexico-semantics mutate, lexicons explode, orthographies reform, typographies blip-&-beep, slang flashes, stylistics warp... linguistic (R)evolutions mark each-&-every quantum leap... languages are "naturally evolved wild systems...
