Iohannes comes from hebrew Jochanan doesn't it? That's what "name your
baby"-books tend to claim at least.
Other names from the same... Jan, Jon, Jo, Hans, Ian, Sean, Ivan, Janne,
Yvonne, Jane, Jean, Jeanette, Joan, Hanna, Henny, Anne... does any other
name have *that* many localized variants?
