I clearly remember posting a Tairezazh version of this, compete with various
grammatical and developmental musings. I however cannot find it in the
archives, wherefore I can only conclude it was lost in the warp.
So, I'll just have to write it down again, I guess. Tairezazh uses a
conjunction _shu_ "that":
Ta nerzek shu a sulent tshóf vérer ak zdain.
_Ta_ is 1st sg pronoun, _nerzek_ the past tense of the verb _nerz-_ "to
think", _shu_ the aforementioned conjunction, _a_ "this (nom.sg)". Having no
word for "thread" in this sense, I substituted _sulent tshóf vérer_ "stupid
telling one another (things)", which breaks down as verbal stem _sul_ "to say,
to tell", gerund ending _-ent_, adjective _tshóf_ "foolish" and the dative of
the reciprocal pronoun _vér_. Finally _ak_ "was" from _ai-_ "to be" and
_zdain_ "dead".
I then had a lengthy digression 'bout the lack of word
for "debate", "dialogue" etc in Tairezazh. I jokingly suggested _dhunsulent
seizvatsh_ "bidirectional insulting" for "argument". I also gave a Steienzh
version:
Ta ñerzek shu a izer sulenn verer ek zdain.
_Izer_ [Izr=] means "ugly". You can figure the rest out yourselves ...
