I thought that the list "INFO" message actually addressed this. It does
not.
The usual thing that I've said when this has come up (though it has
come up more often on AUXLANG than here) is that the "working language"
of the list is English, but that this is not mandated, but reflects the
fact that it's the language most likely to reach most subscribers to
the list. Posts are not discouraged in any language, but practically,
they won't reach as many readers.
Make of that what you will.
