I've never heard the words metcard, dettol, tim-tam, or arnott before. What do they mean?

Mine don't, as they don't have any brand names. Though some similar incidents have happened, where one language's word for "weapon" will be borrowed to mean "spear", or a language's word for "horse" will be borrowed as "animal".
