Trademark again. Some company named Texta makes textas/texters. So do
other companies, but it doesn't matter who makes them: they're always
textas (like bandaids are always bandaids, eskis (chilly bins/coolers)
are always eskis and gladwrap[1] (clear plastic foodcovering film
thingy) is always gladwrap). (Except that when other companies make such
things, they give them different names, obviously.)
[1]: Well... the company name is Glad and the product is Wrap, but it's
pronounced as one word (i.e. /gl&:dZr&p/). They also make a lot of other
things with Glad as the first part of their name e.g. Glad Bags (big
rubbish bags), but have not had the same success in getting those names
a part of the language.
