As I said, I liked the Lakoff system which David Peterson presented last
week. I've tried to improve the drawing a bit in accord with David's
directions:
>----------> Iterative >------------->
Ready >---> Start >---> Process >-----> Finish >---> Result
| / \ /
| | | /
| \ / /
Cancel <-----------< < Suspend < ->
From this system, I'd use the following aspects:
[ready]
[starting]
[in process]
[finished]
[suspended]
[iterative] (repeated performance of the verb)
[cancelled]
And I'd add:
[has experienced]
[swift, timeless] ("aorist"?)
[inevitable]

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are a
Golden God! You amaze me with your diagram drawing capabilities! Even
though I already have one written out by hand, I want to print yours out! ~:D
But anyway, as to your last three, I think there should be a whole other
frame that goes with the initial diagram to express what's going on in the
mind: Whether one wants to do it, whether one feels obligated, etc. Then
there's the how. Anyway, I thought it was an okay idea, and now, thanks to
your masterwork, I think it's a much better one.
