Indigo IIRC is one of the oldest plant-derived dyes. Originally I think, Levis(TM) jeans were indigo, but we've always called them "blue jeans"

Indeed. Has anyone visited a paint store recently? Hundreds and hundreds of subtle variations, which can be very frustrating. One room of my house is painted "pink" (and not 100% attractive either, but It's Different.....) I call it Pepto-Bismol, others call it Bubble Gum.
