It has always been my understanding that oranges are more yellow than orange
in their natural state but that they are "doctored." Well, I don't remember
where I heard that. Also, though I haven't been reading this thread all too
carefully, in reply to whoever said the middle light's orange: I've never
seen it anything other than yellow in America, where traffic lights began,
so it's my impression that America may also be from where the naming
convention stems (i.e. yellow for the, albeit sometimes orange, middle
light).
