Can't, and actually, I can read the hiragana very slowly (as in sounding
them out, not in any sort of language fluency connected with it), fumble
my way through most of the katakana, and probably the only kanji I
recognize reliably are "man" and "tree" and "forest."  Give me a few
years....

I like to have lots of specific color words as well as quite vague ones
(though I haven't had much time for this lately).  Sometimes if you want
to describe a "color range" rather than a single specific shade I could
see the use of a vague word.  (Maybe someone likes all "aoi" shades,
whatever those might be, and wouldn't mind having a belt or whatever in
any of them.)

Hmm...using hex values à la HTML would be funny, but *way* too precise
for the needs of your averae conversation.  =^)
