No, we have a linux machine (a unix lookalike, for those not in the
know) using Pine and got it as plain text as well. I think that the
problem is that it went through several 7-bit channels - that's one
of the reasons why it's not done to send binaries to a mailing list
(except for mailing lists set up for that purpose, of course). It
would have been better to put it somewhere on the Web and just post a
pointer to it.
