If you would be so kind, by any chance could you refer me to sources on
"typical" sound changes (language family doesn't matter too much)? I
have Crowley's _Historical Linguistics_ but I still don't feel I have a
very good grasp on likely sound changes, and I'm not really ready to
handle grammartical changes, unfortunately.
