We did an animal list some time ago... eight or nine months ago? It
grew
out of our list for colors. Someone posted a list of his colors in his
conlang and asked us to guess them. I posted a list of my animals and
asked people to guess them... the point being that some words may just
"sound" right for a color or an animal. My biggest trap was "kwermit,"
which everyone guessed "frog," but it means "duck." <G>
My new animal words grew out of the last Translation relay:
lyralyt for "lark,"
nosoht for "heron,"
tahuot for "starling" (noisy bird)
I have a list of male and female animals, and I need to put that on
line.
