I'm not sure which song you're referring to....
It looks more like simple deletion: prospero año y feliz (año) --
or maybe a shift in word order for the reasons you suggest (prospero y feliz
año > ....) does a previous line end in a /é...i/ word?? (Or maybe féliz
is changing to felÃz thanks to the song 'felÃz Navidad.......')??
English isn't totally immune to putting adjectives where they don't belong:
'have a happy!' (sci. birthday).
My mother, in her Alzheimer-ish dotage, used to say: "let's all just be a
happier" (perhaps meaning ...family?)
