well, use of the subjunctive ( hope i'm not duplicating . . . i've tried to check the list for messages but have been so busy i haven't been able to read everything ) : afaik it depends on language but usually has some sense of omitting to mention whether something is the case. ie, if you're talking about fact you use the indicative, if you're talking about a situation which might or might not be the case, but can be conceived of, you use the subjunctive. hence the use in remote conditional clauses ( where not commenting on something's actuality makes it more distant ), or in indirect command clauses &c ( where the clause represents a thought content ) my analysis anyway ( and probably badly explained ) ; it's the basis of the uses of the subjunctive in bac anyway, bn ===== bnathyuw | landan | arR stamp the sunshine out | angelfish your tears came like anaesthesia | phèdre __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
