You should have heard my wife's family (Her parents are both Spanish
majors, and she came 2 classes short of a major in the language) shrieking
with laughter when I, being _totally_ ignorant of Spanish and firm in the
belief that there was only one way to pronounce an initial "ll", tried to
pronouce "Llano" as is it were a Welsh word: /Ka:no/.
You go with what you expect to see, I suppose.
