May I refer you to the full text of Grandpa and the Dragon:
which shows that the Valdyan text is about 60% of the size of the
English translation. Of course the fact that I wrote it in Valdyan
and translated it into English may account for most of the
difference. In Dutch it's even more extreme; the Valdyan is half the
size of the Dutch.
