Well it's not even near finished yet, but Tech, my project which I've
scrapped, resurrected and reinvented over and over is based on a
multi-layered lexicogrammatical system, with the first layer being
Afroasiatic and the second Indo-European. If there's a conculture linked
with this language, it is that of a nomadic people similar to the
Roma/Gypsies, originating way up the Nile in ancient Cush/Ethiopia but
spreading out over much of the world, including here in Texas, USA.
It's more likely going to be a personal, artistic language used for songs
and such, but since it's based on real-world languages I might as well
derive its culture from real-world demography.
The phonology is ruch with the pharyngeal/glottal songs of Arabic, a fortis
(stop)/lenis (spirant) distinction as in Mishnaic Hebrew and Syriac, and an
enriched vowel system along the lines of Hebrew. It could be written in
Latin or Arabic script, but I prefer Ge'ez/Ethiopic since it's not only
culturally congruent to the language, but it fits in very well with Tech's
six short vowels.
I've been trying to get myself to put up a webpage on this, but I just
restarted from scratch so there's not much to write. What's really sad is
that I've been working on this one artlang for close to 15 years now.
