I've heard, but can't really confirm, that many Australians feel about
peanut butter the way Americans feel about Vegemite. Is that true?
The equivalent Danish food that nearly always gets a big "yuck" from
foreigners (in my experience) is leverpostej. It's a sort of meatloaf made
from pork liver. Slices of it are eaten on open-faced sandwiches. This
foreigner, however, happens to like leverpostej immensely, (I honestly
missed it when I left the country), and I should probably consider where
she can obtain a recipe and some pork liver.
