---- PART II Conlang Typlogic Survey 2001 ----

> Name of the participating conlang:
Seimi
> 2: Order of genitive (G), and noun (N) > Is the order GN, NG or both?
NG
> How is it shown?
With a freestanding word separating the G and the N. Example: _goddi mis giall_ death GEN language 'death of language'
> 3: Order of adjective (A) and noun (N)
NA Example: _gwoli rwonas_ 'fish green' > "a green fish"
> Does the language have a closed class of adjectives?
No.
> Regardless of being a separate class or not: > How are they similar, how do they differ from verbs and nouns?
They don't agree in either case or number with their head noun, nor do they conjugate like verbs for person and number.
> Can they take a copula (that is: need/don't need equivalent of "to be")?
Yes, they can take a copula (_leaidh_). Example: _gwoli lea rwonas_ 'fish is green' > "The fish is green." Perhaps anticipating things, Seimi is a head-initial language, but for some reason has postpositions. That is, VSO - NG - NA - Post. Possibly a trace of the old Saami case-suffix system. daniel -- <> Daeselaidh goddi mis giall! <> daniel.andreasson@telia.com <> <> Lwodadh giall! <> Daniel Andreasson <>
