Draseleq has four ways of expressing what in English should be "to be".
First, "to be" is never used with adjectives, because they are verbs:
rronten "to be big"
rronet, rroner, rron "I'm big, you're big, it's big" (etc.)
Then, there are three different verbs for common functions of "to be":
arten "to be (located at), to stay"
thu"asten "to be, to exist"
qesten "to be, to be of class X"
_thu"asten_ is used for general existence, like "there is" in English.
_qesten_ puts together two noun phrases, like "I am a person"
or "My house is this one".
