Unpalatalized <e> = <é> (e-acute)
Palatalized <e> = <e>
This is because palatalized <e> is much more frequent than regular <e>, and using
<e> for palatalized <e> looks better... OK, so all palatalization is marked,
with consonant-following <j>. The depalatalizing sign is abolished in favour of
keeping all consonants unpalatalized unless there's a following <e>.
Short <i> = <i>.
for Mark Reed: Long <i> = <í> (i-acute)
for Christian Thalmann: Long <i> = <j> (thus: <aj oj uj ij>)
This is so confusing...
