Well, at least some some German mathematicians who were silly enough to put ö into their names have been getting their names pronounced properly. (I have a job at IKEA. In the Sweden Shop at IKEA. But of course most people working there have no idea how to read Swedish, so they do horrible things like pronouncing 'Sås' as /sa:s/ even though it appears to mean 'sauce' and, IIUC, is pronounced almost exactly the same as our /so:s/. Silly Swedes. Couldn't you've done the logical thing and spelt /o:/ as 'au'? I mean, isn't there something underlyingly /o:/-y about 'au'? :) -- Trsitan. Find local movie times and trailers on Yahoo!
