Indeed I recall reading that the word _planxty_ (or planchstigh) is a word for a particular sort of dance practiced amongst the Gentry which was later exported from that Country by O Carolan and made popular by himself in Ireland while the word was borrowed into Irish (Gaelic and Bearla). Padraic.
