There is a site on Lingua Franca which seems to support the idea that
many Latin or at least LF words have made their way into various North
African langs. I don't have the address at hand, and haven't had a
chance to read the whole thing entirely (it's a big page), but a
search for "Lingua Franca" will bring it up. Once you wade through a
couple of corporations that call themselves LF or have products called
LF!
