From a theatre review:
"The great Shakespeare/Bacon controversy can be resolved at last. After
last night's performance of _Hamlet_, all that will be necessary is to
exhume both bodies. The one that has turned over is it."
For non-anglophones, this refers to a cliche about people "turning over
in their graves" if they could hear/see what was done with/to/by their
works, children, or what have you after their deaths.

To say that Bilbo's breath was taken away is no description at all. There
are no words left to express his staggerment, since Men changed the language
that they learned of elves in the days when all the world was wonderful.
