Um.. I've seen OE before, but that's obviously not good. If people don't
mind me making a suggestion:
OE Ligature: <&>
ae Ligature: <&\>
u-dashed: <1\>
Alternatively, <&> and <&\> could be reversed, but this would be to
un-X-Samparish. I don't believe that <&\> and <1\> are currently used by
anything.
{ and } are dodgy because it's harder to remember which is which and
they're used by some people instead of < and >.
Comments and opinions? (Preferably that don't revolve around 'Why should we
_want_ to change them?'. Obviously people have found a fault with them, two
of which are illustrated in the previous point.)
My proposed name for this is CX-Sampa, the C being short 'for conlang',
obviously.
Also, what's a 'besserwisser'?
