After reading all those mails from people I often never read any mail of (and got older and older as I read them, I'm 22!), I've finally decided to answer to David as I think he shouldn't go back to lurking (by the way, how many people are we in CONLANG, and how many are lurkers -shame on u!-). First, one question: do you have a webpage, or are you creating one? As any other conlanger, I like to see what the others do. If you have one, I'll be pleased to add a link into my webpage. Second, one answer: I never use computers to make my conlangs. In fact, I use computers only to copy what I wrote down by hand (it's true for everything I write, my short stories or my conlangs, or anything else!). I don't know why, but I'm more imaginative and self-consistent with a pen than with a keyboard. For my vocabularies, I create them by hand, with two main manners: -when a word just pops up in my mind, I write it down and try to find the "exact" sound it needs (depends on the conlang). -when I translate a text (rarely!), I create words as I need them. But even if this last way seems more consistent, I don't like it very much as I stay too close to the meanings of the words in the original language (French often). In order to create really new words, I prefer the first way of creating (many fellow conlangers will disagree with me I think). Third, one pledge: don't go back to lurking again! I'm sure your opinion about the many questions that are raised in the list would be very useful for everybody, and when I say that, I'm talking to every lurker in the list. Can you hear me? Hello!
