Steg Belsky wrote, today, that this would make a good translation test: a song
a little different that the Clinton jokes:
>"...a great great great freedom!
> so that they won't ask us to do what we don't want [to do],
>and so that they won't say things that we don't understand.
>so that all the children will go up into the trees
> and all the adults will become small.
> freedom, freedom, for all the children,
> a great great great freedom!"
Once again, political. What an odd interpretation of freedom. I wouldn't want
to put my language to this, even were it at a point where I could do so.
>Once upon a time, North Wind and Sun were having an argument about which
>one was the stronger. Just at that time, a person wearing a long coat came
>by. The two agreed that whichever one was able to make the person take off
>his coat first was the strongest.
I have seen this before as a standard translation text. It seems to me there
was more to it than this, but at this time this is all I have of it. Anybody
have the full text?
