*blush* I'm not that much of an expert, though my little thesis
does summarize some of the semantics behind active marking quite
neatly. Note that this is only *my* view of active languages.
Others may -- and do -- differ. And it's not much of a view either.
More of a summary of the semantics. Anyway...
