Michael Poxon> Oh, at last, some actual conlanging!

Is that still allowed? I thought it had been added to the No C's list. :)

Seriously, I haven't posted about conlanging on here in a while
because I haven't been doing any conlanging! Simple, eh? Priorities
have shifted a bit around parenting and work and home and that
particular hobby sort of fell by the wayside. I've been thinking
about it more lately, though, so I expect it may percolate up the
priority queue again.

In fact, one of the last things I did in this area was pick out a name
for a new (fifth) language, but there's nothing else associated with
it yet in my notes. A blank slate, forsooth! I don't seem to have
any way of expressing the concept of "despite/in spite
of/notwithstanding" in any of the other four, so I shall make sure
that Mayuc (for that is its name) has that ability straight off.

Since I'm sure nobody remembers them :), the other four are, in
chronological order of creation, Mephali (relex of English), Shalakar
(notable for having an unanalyzable root glossed as "yogurthead"),
Okaikiar (of the very small phonology and nifty-if-I-say-so-myself
rectangular script), and Churnalis (high concept conlang whose case
system is based on the Five W's And One H of journalism).
