TECH: Font question

Does anyone use ~have experience with SIL's Gentium font? I'm told it's in
the Times New Roman family, + unicode (for IPA principally for my purposes).
I have something that could be submitted for publication; most journals
specify Times NR ~Gentium for the IPA, and MS Word. Unfortunately, I've been
using Open Office, and the Thryomanes font. Files don't always translate
properly from OO --> Word, so I suspect a lot of retyping will be necessary.
