I've had problems reading some PDF-files which seemed not to show correctly on
my computer, while they seemed to show well on other computers. Most of them
used Unicode or something (and yet, my computer has Unicode). I must say I
don't understand why there's a problem, but still it's there.

A free Word-to-PDF converter? I never heard of any. Moreover, the PS-files
created by Word are not standard PS, so you need a converter WPS>PS. IIRC they
exist free only with Unix and Linux systems.

Den Haag-Groningen: 3h of train (approximately the same time as Den Haag-Paris,
but in that case there is the high-speed train :) ).
That's not what I call "near". Of course, each country has it's own point of
view.
