And I'll go along with it. I was simply trying to come with some possibilities for explaining its existence.

There are all sorts of sites where information can be found: http://www.helsinki.fi/~tasalmin/europe_report.html#Italkian Gives a little about Yevanic and Italkian (Judeo-Italian), mentions a scholar whose worked on these langs. Basically similar to the Ethnologue entry posted already. http://www.sirius.com/~ovid/jewish.lang.european.html Gives a little more info on Judeo-French, Jedeo-Provancal, Judeo_Italian, Yevanis.
